All my projects, both in the studio and the garden, start with a brand-new sketchbook.

Mindmaps help me to expand my thoughts and to unravel some of the string around the question “What is my idea?”. The white pages are splashed with vibrant background colours as I plant seeds in the form of notes, poems, drawings, and cuttings from garden magazines.  Gradually, tiny ideas grow and I move from page to fabric, painting, printing, sketching and stitching lines of flowers, seedheads, and foliage onto vast quantities of dyed Lutradur.

Every piece of work is unique, original and takes hours, days and sometimes weeks to be ready to harvest.  In this Portfolio you can see some of the fruits of my garden.
