Community Art Projects

Over the last few years Ive worked as a Community Artist for Escape Stratford and Alcester; PaperMoon; IN2 Theatre Group; All Saints Primary School, Northampton; Cottingham C of E Primary School, Corby, Northants; Trefoil Guild Guides Group, Leamington Spa, Sure Start Parenting Projects at both Alcester and Bishopston; Four Acres Retirement Home, Alcester and Warwick Retirement Home.

Each of these projects has been an exciting adventure, working with individuals ages 5-90, with sometimes hugely talented, articulate, capable people.  Other times, there may be challenges including learning difficulties, blindness, hearing impairments, memory loss, language learning, fear, loneliness and depression.

Working together to make something, learning a new practical skill such as screen printing or hand stitching, helps us unite and sometimes, just the sheer joy of working together to produce an original textile artwork to celebrate life, makes people happy.
